DOE/NorthEast Sun Grant-Growing perennial grasses for biofuels on marginal land amended with municipal waste biosolids and flue gas desulfurization gypsum

This grant was started in 2010 and is currently in its final stages of completion.  For this grant work we are studying perennial grasses that would be used for biofuels on marginal land that has been amended with human biosolids and different rates of flue gas desulfurization gypsum (FGD).

The 3 grasses that we are using for this experiment are:

  1. Miscanthus
  2. Big Blue Stem
  3. Switch Grass
