Biography: 

Charissa Gardner began her career at The Ohio State University South Centers in 2011. She has served as the Program Coordinator for various programs including, Specialty Crops, Direct Marketing, and Center for Cooperatives. Currently Gardner is a Growth Advisor for the Manufacturing and Extension Program.

For Specialty Crops, Gardner served as Program Coordinator. She managed the news and event publications, website, social media, listservs, and served as the event coordinator. Gardner was also Co-Editor of the VegNet and Hops Newsletters.

With Direct Marketing, she also served as the Program Coordinator and managed the Ohio MarketMaker program, was the news and event publications coordinator, website, social media, and listserv manager, and was the event coordinator.

While with the Center for Cooperatives program Gardner served as the Program Coordinator. She was the financial manager for the centers partner-Mid America Cooperative Council, managed events, website and social media aspects, marketing materials and advertising, and assisted with various other aspects of the program. Gardner also assisted in teaching at various educational conferences and workshops.

Currently Gardner serves as Growth Advisor for the MEP. She is an advisor for five out of nineteen counties of the MEP region. Gardner assists manufacturing businesses with trainings, educational programs, and financial assistance. Gardner also serves as the financial assistant for the program and assists with grant funding as well.

In her previous years, Gardner also served as the OSU South Centers Campus Campaign Ambassador from 2014 through
2018, was a member of JCEP and Staff Advisory Council- each for 4 years and is currently a member of Chi Epsilon Sigma.

Prior to joining OSU, she was an English teacher for Adams County Christian school for 3 years and worked as a Business Manager for the Peebles Monument Company for 12 years.

Gardner is a graduate of Peebles High School. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Arts and English Humanities from Shawnee State University.
Personal Involvement:

Her hobbies include gardening, shopping, and traveling.

Gardner currently resides in Peebles, Ohio with her daughter Carrington.
