Discussions surround TECH NEWS including upgrading systems, hard drives to SSD, system updates, and how it may affect apps and if they should be automatic. There may be other costs associated with upgrading or updating the operating system, PC or mobile devices. Upgrades are being completed at the University of Rio Grande. Rio is just now completing the SSD Upgrade Project for campus and so far, all have had compliments and praises. The SSD is a much faster device and when preinstalled with a new OS (Windows 10) it makes an older system fly. Like all educational institutions, there are much older laptops which are now behaving much better under Windows 10 using the SSD without any more memory.

These questions will be discussed along with where technology will be in the future and will devices have adequate download speeds? There also will be a review of this week’s Tech News.

Jamie studied Music Composition at Marshall University writing symphonies and other large orchestral works. Jamie began to paint as a pastime, and found later that he had a passion as an artist coming through in the visual form. Much of his earlier paintings resemble music in the visual sense. Sloane’s first gallery show was in Gallipolis Ohio at the French Art Colony, titled ‘Translations: Aesthetic Interpretations of Gallipolis’; a visual translation of the historical landscape of Gallipolis Ohio. His second show occurred just one year later, containing 45 new paintings; this was held in Point Pleasant at The Gallery At 409.

VOICE OF RIO GRANDE Host Dr. RICHARD SAX with Larry Ewing discusses THE SEVEN SAMURAI

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qo7heDHVPos

Radio: http://tobtr.com/s/7995003

VOICE OF RIO GRANDE Hosted by Dr. Richard SAX, Provost of the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College features Communication Instructor Larry Ewing with URG/RGCC. He will discuss the Multicultural Film Series, specifically, his facilitation of the October (25) film, Akiro Kurosawa’s 1954 tour de force, The Seven Samurai. One of the central truths of ''The Seven Samurai'' is that the samurai and the villagers who hire them are of different castes, and must never mix. Indeed, we learn that these villagers had earlier been hostile to samurai and now must rely on them. This film demonstrates that regardless of our background, different cultures and subcultures must depend on each other regardless of race, color, sex and creed to live and grow.
