2007 OAA Fishing Derby
This summer, the Ohio Aquaculture Association held a member ¡°fishing derby¡± as a social event at the farm of long-time members Rob and Marge Busch. OAA wishes to thank Rob and Marge for their gracious hospitality and all the hard work in getting things set up for the event.
Although the day was beautiful and the fishing was great, we could have used a few more eager fishermen. Attendance was about 20 people. Everyone had a great time. The fish were biting at such a flurry, we (almost) wished they wouldn¡¯t, so as to allow a bit more socializing.
Master angler of the day was one of our youngest fishermen, Jack Chairvolotti. Jack reeled in a 24 3/4 inch catfish, handling it like a pro. For his efforts he was awarded a rather interesting ¡°Fly Swatter¡± for a prize. Congratulations, Jack!
Upon the conclusion of the afternoon, the Busches prepared a delicious meal of deep fried catfish and many more tasty treats for those present.
If you have not had a chance to visit the Busch Family Fish Farm and Pay Lakes, please give them a call, or visit their website at www.buschfamilyfishfarm.com. The run a top-notch business, assuring fun for the whole family.
