The Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program

The Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program (OCVN), co-developed by J. P. Lieser, promotes awareness and citizen stewardship of Ohio's natural resources through science-based education and community service. In 2006, OCVN held two pilot programs in Mahoning County and at Five Rivers Metro Parks. Some 137 potential participants have contacted the program to express their readiness to sign up for the course as soon as it is ready.
