Some 40 growers throughout Ohio have adopted the plasticulture strawberry
Some 40 growers throughout Ohio have adopted the plasticulture strawberry production system through the help of South Centers. Use of this production technology resulted in 2006 average yields around 20,000 pounds with an average retail price of $2.00 per pound. The 2006 harvest season was one of the best so far in terms of fruit quality and yields for the OSU South Centers research trials. The 2006 cultivar harvest yields for Camerosa variety ranged from 17,714 to 21,836 pounds of marketable fruit per acre.
